What if I told you...

This incredible piece of art was not actually painted by artists? Instead, paint accidently fell in the same area over time and it eventually came to look like a three dimensional crevasse that beautifully portrays man's creativity. I hope you would tell me the painting was clearly painted! Why? Because it exists, and is perfectly planned and placed on the pavement by these artists.

Yet this is the product of chance and luck over time...

"For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Romans 1:20

Oprah's gospel

NOTE: I know the following article is rather lengthy, especially if you view each video included. However, I would encourage you to view each video, and read through the discussion of each one, even if you cannot get through the whole thing in one sitting. Read a bit, then come back later. Either way, please thoughtfully read through this entire article

We live in a culture that demands tolerance. If you say somebody is wrong, you are intolerant. In the event that you do believe someone is wrong, you must pass it off as, “We just see different but are both right.” Telling somebody they are wrong is the unforgivable sin of America today.

If there is any one person who has infiltrated the minds of Christians and secularists alike today it is Oprah Winfrey. I was once at a Christian concert at which a fan proudly displayed a sign that read, “Scream if you love Oprah.” I have noticed that if you say something negative about Oprah, even in Christian circles, you are almost immediately looked at as a sort of ‘intolerant jerk’ who dares to attack a woman who has done ‘so much good’ for the world (people do not like it when you say their god is a false one).

As you read this article, please know that I did not write this to attack anybody. I do not dislike Oprah. She is lost, and needs the gospel of Jesus Christ just as equally as anybody else. And I pray she repents and puts her trust in the Savior.

With that said, Oprah Winfrey is a heretic. I know that sentence made many people’s blood boil. I can assure you I do not use that term lightly. Heresy is, “opinion or doctrine at variance with the orthodox or accepted doctrine.” And a Heretic is, “opinion or doctrine at variance with the orthodox or accepted doctrine.”

Folks how much clearer can this issue possibly be? What Oprah declared in that video is classic, textbook pluralism (many paths to heaven). That is in blatant contradiction with the entirety of scripture. There is one Way (John 14:6), one Mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:3-6), and one name under heaven by which we can be saved, Christ (Acts 4:12). Any doctrine that claims there are multiple ways to be forgiven or sin or to get to God is heresy.

Notice the language used in the above video. “Best life,” “deeper connection,” “richer more fulfilling life.” Taking deep breathes and meditation. What you just viewed (definitions of spirituality, universal energy, being your best self, gay by ‘divine right’) is basic New Age false teaching. Biblical? You cannot get much farther from it.

She once again opens with the same kind of language. Show me one Bible verse that says God wants us to, “connect with the deepest part of ourselves.” Look at how Paul viewed ‘connecting with his spirit’ in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I love by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” The Bible tells us to, “Lay aside the old self (Ephesians 4:22)” not connect with it. What else is the video implying? Our personal spirituality is more important than doctrine. ‘Jesus did not actually come down to die for our sins.’ Doesn’t something inside of you burn when people discuss the Savior with such disrespect? “I used to think Jesus came just to die on the cross for my sins…” Just to die for my sins? Brethren that is what the gospel is! That is the precious truth that has the power to save souls and forgive sins. That is what the entire Bible is about! What a shame that so many ‘Christians’ today view making the Lord’s death a trivial matter as anything short of heresy.

If we cannot stand up boldly for our faith and declare that teaching like this is heresy, what is? How much teaching that butchers essential doctrine are we willing to take without saying anything? Why does the majority of the Church sit back and want to be tolerant and never say somebody’s teaching is false, while that very teaching they refuse to say something about is literally taking people to hell? I once saw a statistic that said 7.4 million people watch Oprah’s show daily. Think about that. 7.4 million people are eating up this false teaching, and the American Church does not even love the Truth enough to do something about it.

Wake up Christian. Heed Paul’s warning. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)” If you are living a life that is set on tolerance, getting along with everyone, and being afraid to stand up for Truth, read your Bible and start standing up for it. I am not saying attack false teachers ruthlessly or be cruel to them. We must always, “speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15)” I am saying love sound doctrine and the gospel enough to be willing to stand up boldly for the pure gospel, the one that saves. And do not be afraid to confront those that do not.
